TNL’s New Youth Education Program

Announcing TNL’s new youth education program: Gros Morne Arts Education

This program runs every Saturday from January 10th to May 9th 2026 and is designed for elementary aged students, kindergarten all the way to grade 7.

Students enrolled in the program will be able to visit the Nurse Myra Bennett Centre in Cow Head every Saturday for rotating classes in drama, music, visual arts, and culinary arts. This rotation between different mediums gives students a well-rounded arts experience. Students will receive 16 classes over the course of the program!

Want to learn music? We’ll be teaching singing, beef bucket drumming, and more with instructor Nick Hamlyn.

Want to learn drama? We’ll be teaching introductory acting skills and playing tons of drama games with instructor Adam Brake.

Want to learn cooking? We’ll be teaching baking and the ins and outs of the kitchen with instructor Beverly Payne.

Want to learn visual art and crafts? We’ll be teaching crafts and making murals with instructor Denise Dolliver.

Classes will be broken into two different age groups:

  • Kindergarten to grade 3, Saturday mornings 10am – noon
  • Grade 4 to grade 7, Saturday afternoons from 1pm – 3pm

Additionally, every student will receive a complementary ‘youth pass’ to the Gros Morne Theatre Festival to attend 2026 shows. This will allow students to continue to engage with the arts and theatre for almost an entire year.

Registration is $150/per student (plus tax) for the semester. This works out to less than $10 per class!

We will happily accept mid-semester registration but the full registration fee will apply.
